Mimi Mowery and Chef, Chris Newton, began their journey together in 2008. Packing over fifty years of combined experience in the service industry and a mutual vision of their future, the two decided Carolina Beach would be the place to call home and pursue their dream of owning a restaurant. The opportunity presented itself in the Summer of 2017. Aligning their minds creatively, Soul Flavor was conceived and born the following November. The mission is to provide a menu offering dishes using the freshest and most locally sourced ingredients as possible being professionally presented in a relaxed environment. Keeping in mind dietary restrictions and the importance of having healthy options, Chef Newton crafts a diverse and evolving menu with a little something for everyone. The atmosphere reflects the menu in its uniqueness. One-of-a-kind artwork hangs on the vibrantly painted walls and guests dine to classic Soul music. Friends and neighbors gather at the bar where cocktails are mixed using fresh squeezed juices and scratch made syrups. The House red and white Sangria are a favorite among the locals. Six rotating beer taps and a thoughtful wine selection also add to the genuine Soul Flavor experience.
